What does this mean?
For the clubs that opt-in to this program, you’ll allow new members to try out being a member of your club for a predetermined period before becoming a full member. Offering a free trial is a fantastic way to appeal to members on the fence about joining your club by giving them a risk-free option to play with your club and start establishing a Handicap Index. You’ll also be able to better leverage the SCGA marketing capacity by making it easier for golfers in your area searching for a club to join. Clubs with the free trial option will have their listing on the SCGA Club Finder updated to reflect this:

FAQs
Q: Who is the free trial option open to?
A: The free trial is open to any club that is accepting new members and has their Online Join/Renew Portal active.
Q: Would my renewing members have access to a free trial period?
A: No, the free trial option will only appear to those who do not have an active GHIN number and have never been a member of your club.
Q: How long does the free trial last?
A: Your club can select to offer a 30, 60, or 90 day free trial. The SCGA recommends offering at least 60 days, as this allows members ample time to experience the full value of their membership, including playing in a club event and establishing a Handicap Index.

A: Your club can choose to stop the free trial at any time by contacting the SCGA.
Q: Who can I contact if I have more questions?
